In the early 90's, when FatChanceBellyDance was just getting started, Suliman el Coyote handed me a cassette tape. He said simply, "I've been watching your troupe dance. I think you'll like this music." I thanked him and tucked it in my bag. When I got home I popped it into the deck and was swept off my feet by the songs. Now available on CD, this recording is still a viable part of our repertoire.
Our favorite is Country Dance, a 14-minute suite of four songs that provide two up-tempo and two slow-to-fast. Featured on our Dance Fundamentals Vol. 1 DVD, FCBD Live! and Director's Cut.
Doumbec, tabla baladi, def, mizmar, arghool, nai, oud, saz, vocals, zils.

This is actually a four part routine, I'm not sure why they didn't break it into separate tracks. Regardless, all sections are terrific!
